The Face Behind Thriving With Therapy

Hey, I'm Sara (she/her)

With over a decade of experience in the trauma field—through education, advocacy, and clinical work—I help people move from surviving to thriving. I'm a licensed clinical social worker and certified EMDR therapist based in North Carolina, offering both individual therapy and professional consultation.

I specialize in supporting adults healing from relational trauma and complex PTSD—particularly those who grew up with emotionally immature parents or have experienced interpersonal violence. My work is both trauma-informed and antagonism-informed, recognizing how harmful relationship dynamics and power imbalances shape a person’s nervous system and self-concept. Whether in therapy or consultation, my approach is grounded in compassion, EMDR, and strengths-based care to help people rebuild self-trust, strengthen relationships, and live more authentically.

I’m a Northern transplant, born and raised in Connecticut. My toxic trait? Getting distracted by clients’ pets mid-session! I was a first-generation college student and a student-athlete (softball pitcher). And yes, I liked the color pink and Taylor Swift before they were cool.

I’m a huge animal lover—I rescue Betta fish, foster dogs, and spoil my three rescue beagles. When I’m not in the office, you’ll find me lifting weights, binge-listening to pop culture podcasts, watching Bravo, or gardening. Oh, and of course, you can catch me in my own therapist’s office too!

THE FUN STUFF

My Approach

I work from an intersectional feminist framework and bring strong clinical expertise to guide the therapy process. My style is structured and intentional, with clear goals and a steady pace. You bring your lived experience; I bring the tools and knowledge to help us understand it together.

This is a space to explore trauma through the lens of mind, body, relationships, and the systems that shape us—and to deepen insight, agency, and self-trust, honoring the strength you already carry.
